		<description>I had a similar experience working in television.  I started off working as an associate producer, but what I really wanted to do was be a TV reporter.  Working your up from producer usually gets you a job as an executive producer or perhaps news director.  So, I came in on my own time and worked with the reporters, helping them get interviews, shooting my own standups with their photographers and putting together a tape.  Then I gave the tape to the news director and let her know I was interested in a reporter position when one was available.  Within a couple of months I was reporting on weekends and producing during the week.  

Of course, there is also the old saying &quot;be careful what you wish for.&quot;  I learned that I really didn&#039;t like working in TV, so I went back to working as a news reporter and news anchor on radio.</description>
