The notions of 'homes' is well known (in general) and to me. Unfortunately, I seem to be unable to practice it. Does the book elaborate on this also?

My grandmother used to organize the contents of her trash can. Putting 'wet' scraps into a separate container, which had to be moved out of the way to throw away the dry trash, which was itself also organized within the trashcan.

And of course she kept a lid on the trashcan (an overturned cardboard box) with the dustpan on top to add to the convenience to tossing anything out.

I inherited the family organization gene but in everything moderation.

Although I didn't grow up during the depression when it was probably a good idea to make it difficult to throw away items.

I've always been an organizational type, but I've also always approached organizational systems as an asset, not a burden. I think that's a really important distinction -- and I'm definitely going to check out her book!

I wrote a post recently about how organization can bring freedom, called "How to Leave for Paris in 56 Minutes." You can read it at http://www.sufficientthrust.com/how-to-leave-for-paris-in-an-hour/
