Human beings, by the principle of duality, tend to divide themselves into two camps. Most people choose one side or another in order to feel part of a group. Critical thinkers, on another hand have a more balanced perspective. They have the courage to think in a way that may not fit into a category.
They are able to empathize with each group and understand why they hold their position. They realize that if each side believes so strongly that they are right, then there must be a bit of truth in each perspective.
