Decisiveness
Successful people are quick to make decisions, and slow to change their minds. This is the essence of decisiveness.
George Patton once said, “A good plan today is better than a perfect plan tomorrow.” Successful people quickly evaluate decisions against their values and goals. They act on those that are in alignment, even if they are not perfect.
It is easy to get caught up in over-thinking and doubt over decisions. Decisiveness requires confidence to overcome doubt.
The reason that decisiveness breeds success is based on the principle of exponential growth as it applies to goals, which says that the longer you work towards something, the faster your rewards will multiply. Knowing this, it is best to make a decision early and stick with it. The more a person changes their minds, the more they have to start over and go through the slowest and least rewarding stretch on the way to a goal.
